The Cherry Blossoms are in bloom along the tidal basin, signaling the start of business development season for federally focused businesses, and the scheduling of vendor outreach sessions hosted by scads of government agencies. The vendor outreach sessions consolidate small business outreach efforts for groups of agencies.

Vendor Outreach 101

Basic qualifications needed to take advantage of the vendor outreach resources for business development:

  • These sessions require that you are a 8a/SDVOSB/WOSB/EDWOSB/HubZone business

  • Have a DUNS number and CAGE code

  • Be registered in sam.gov and certified and the corresponding SBA portals

  • Complete portal registration at least a week before the registration date.

  • Register Promptly for the events, on the day and hour registration opens.

The key to success at these events is preparation!

  • Have a single sided one page capability statement ready for each event, professionally printed on glossy paper.

  • Bring business cards, a pen, and a notebook to hold the paperwork that is handed out.

  • Arrive early and be prepared….
